Chocolate Cherry Cake

1 box chocolate cake mix 1/4 tsp. almond favoring
2 eggs 1/2 cup walnuts, optional
1 (#303) can cherry pie filling  

Preparation:

Mix all ingredients together until moist, then mix with mixer for 2 minutes.  Bake in 13x9 inch pan (greased and floured) at 350° for 45 minutes.  Frost with chocolate cherry cake icing.

Chocolate Cherry Cake Icing

1 stick margarine 1 tsp. vanilla
1 Tbsp. powdered cocoa 1 cup pecans, chopped
6 Tbsp. milk 1 box powdered sugar (3-1/2 to 4 cups)

About 5 minutes before cake is done, melt margarine with milk and cocoa.  Bring to a boil.  Remove from heat and add powdered sugar, vanilla and nuts.  Mix until smooth.  Spread over hot cake as soon as it comes out of the oven.
