Fruit Cocktail Cake

1-1/2 cups sugar Topping:
1/2 tsp. salt  
2 eggs 1/2 cup brown sugar
1 can fruit cocktail 1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/2 tsp. soda 1/2 cup Angel Flake coconut
2 cups flour  
1/2 cup shortening  

Preparation:

Mix all cake Ingredients, pour into 9x13 inch pan.  Mix brown sugar, chopped nuts and coconut.  Spread mixture over cake batter.  Bake at 350° about 40 minutes or until done.
