Ministries of the church First Assembly works very
hard to meet the needs of all our members and visitors. Each of the
ministries listed below are an arm of the church set up to help us do that work. Without a doubt, you will hear the complete Bible preached at First Assembly. You will hear preaching about the grace of God and the wrath of God. Through the preaching, your faith will be built, bondage will be broken and your spirit will be quickened. Through the preaching you will comprehend that sin is black, hell is hot and eternity long. You see how to live in the victory, freedom, joy and blessings of God. Our pastor is not selfish with the pulpit. You will hear a variety of anointed preachers and speakers from around the world.
Prayer Ministry We believe in prayer. The Bible teaches us to present ourselves for prayer, so please feel free to do so during our worship services. We encourage each Christian to spend time in prayer daily. There is no substitute for time spent in prayer and study of God's word. Teaching Ministry We also encourage your daily personal Bible study. Every person need this to cope with the tasks of each day. Prayer and study of God's word is a necessity for every Christian.
Lending Library First Assembly of God has a
growing book, tape and video library available. The Lending Library is
open prior to all services. We are accepting good Christian material to
add to our collection. First Assembly has a diverse group of
vibrant ladies of all ages. They meet monthly in "Joy Fellowships".
This is a special opportunity for our ladies to come together and share God's
Word as well as a time of food, fun, and fellowship. At convenient times
through each year, our ladies attend retreats, seminars and special meetings all
designed to help the modern woman prevail against the demands of her world.
The men of First Assembly have organized together with a club type setting. These men believe in accountability and mentoring at a personal level. Young men (teens) are invited to all events to have interface with mature Christian men. Relationships are important and they frequently meet together for fellowships called "boys night out". These often include special meals (often prepared by the wives) and there are other recreational activities such as bowling nights, fishing tournaments and skeet shooting. Typically, the men have an annual retreat that they attend together. Our men are not all fun and games. The randomly but discreetly accomplish good Samaritan works from roofing houses and raking lawns to visitation and tutoring.
We have an equipped nursery area with caring, competent staff for infants and toddlers. The nursery is for children from birth to three years.
Children's Ministries We have a powerful children's ministries team that helps
deliver a very rounded spiritual foundation for children. In addition to
our children's Sunday School, we have a Children's Church that meets during our
10:30 service on Sunday mornings. This is a powerful teaching time that is
age and sometimes gender oriented. Royal Rangers is our boys group and
Missionettes is our girls. Every year we have one or two special crusades
that are specifically designed for children. Every summer, we participate
in powerful week long camps at our District Campground.
Youth Ministries Our student ministries recognizes the time that we live in is perilous for the teenager. We have formed a talented group of leaders who deliver a wonderful ministry on Wednesday evenings. This ministry is tailored for the contemporary teen-ager facing modern issues. We have a gifted youth band that has been requested to conduct worship in various places in our area. Our student ministry leaders conduct and participate in youth revivals, district youth retreats, local area youth meetings, youth trips and events.
Senior's Ministry First Assembly recognizes the unique challenges of our not so young members. We have formed a ministry called V. I. P.'s for this age group. This group is very relational. They keep watch over each other and typically gather to meet every month for a time of fellowship, games and food. We have an area Senior Rally once a year and a Seniors trip is offered annually.
If you come to First Assembly, get ready to sing! Our music ministry has become one of our greatest assets. We promote praise instead of performance. It is our firm belief that we must become less and God must become greater in us if we are to be adequate with our musical expression. God has generously blessed us with anointed musicians and powerful singers. W have a full choir and a dynamic worship team. Often, on 5th Sundays we schedule the whole service to worship with special gospel singers. Our worship leader embraces contemporary music and enhances that with the old hymns and camp meeting songs.
